Jaipur

Jaipur is a fast-paced card game for two players, designed by Sébastien Pauchon. In this game, players are traders in the Indian city of Jaipur, competing to become the official merchant of the Maharaja. Over a series of rounds, players must skillfully manage their hand of cards, buying, exchanging, and selling goods such as spices, silk, and leather, while also aiming to collect and trade valuable camels.

The game is a blend of strategy and luck, with players making critical decisions about when to sell goods for maximum profit or hold out for a larger set, as larger sets of goods are worth more points. Bonuses are awarded for selling large quantities of goods, and the player with the most camels at the end of a round gains extra points. After each round, one player is awarded a Maharaja’s seal of excellence; the first to acquire two seals wins the game.

Jaipur is known for its quick gameplay, easy-to-learn rules, and strategic depth, making it a popular choice for a casual gaming session or as a gateway game for new players entering the world of modern board games.
