Pandemic Legacy Season 1

“Pandemic Legacy: Season 1” is a cooperative board game designed by Rob Daviau and Matt Leacock. It builds upon the mechanics of the original “Pandemic,” where players work together as members of a disease control team to combat four deadly diseases spreading across the globe. However, “Pandemic Legacy” introduces a persistent, evolving narrative that unfolds over a series of games, representing a year in the game world, with each game session reflecting one month.

What sets “Pandemic Legacy” apart is its legacy aspect, where players’ decisions and game outcomes have lasting consequences that carry over to future games. The game board and rules themselves change as players open sealed packets, reveal hidden information, place stickers on the board to denote changes in the cities (like outbreaks or improvements), and even destroy components. These changes reflect the story progression and the successes or failures of the players.

The game is split into 12 months (or more, if you lose games and need to replay a month), with each month bringing new objectives, challenges, and character developments. Players can customize their characters over time, gaining new abilities or scars from the trials they face. “Pandemic Legacy: Season 1” is an immersive, narrative-driven experience that offers a unique form of gameplay, where the stakes feel high and each session contributes to an overarching tale of global survival and crisis management.
