“Risk: Star Wars Edition” is a board game that adapts the classic gameplay of Risk to the Star Wars universe, specifically focusing on the climactic events of “Return of the Jedi.” Players choose sides between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance and battle over key locations with fleets of starships. The game features three theaters of war: the space battle above Endor, the shield assault on the moon itself, and the duel between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. The objective is to complete specific missions related to each side’s strategy, such as destroying the Death Star or protecting it long enough to quash the Rebellion. This edition of Risk streamlines some of the classic game’s mechanics to create a faster-paced experience while incorporating iconic Star Wars elements to appeal to fans of the franchise.
